We are a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka and Our client is a leading FMCG company head office based in Colombo. They are no 1 in the industry they operate and now have started its new distribution channels in India looking for a Brand Manager to based in Bangalore India

Role of a brand manager

Responsibilities of a brand manager:

A brand manager wears many hats and plays a crucial role in the success of a particular biscuit brand or product line. Here’s a breakdown of their key responsibilities:
Market research and key responsibilities:
  • Conduct market research to understand consumer preferences buying habits and emerging trends in the biscuit category.
  • Analyse the competitor activity including product offerings pricing strategies and marketing campaigns.
  • Identify market gaps and opportunities for brand differentiation.
Brand strategy and positioning:
  • Develop a clear brand strategy that defines the brand’s target audience brand personality and core values.
  • Position the biscuit brand within the competitive landscape highlighting its unique selling proposition (USP)
  • Craft a compelling brand story that resonates with the consumers and build emotional connection.
Product development and management:
  • Work closely with product development teams to create new biscuit products that meet consumer needs and market trends.
  • Manage the product lifecycle including product launches innovation reformulation and potential product discontinuation.
  • Ensure product quality and consistency across all biscuit varieties.
Marketing and communication:
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns to promote the biscuit brand and its products.
  • Manage the brand’s marketing budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources across various channels (digital traditional media etc.)
  • Craft compelling marketing messages and communication materials that resonate with the target audience.
  • Oversee social media presence and brand engagement online.
Sales and distribution:
  • Work with sales teams to develop sales strategies and achieve sales targets.
  • Manage relationships with distributors and retailers to ensure product availability and visibility.
  • Monitor and analyse sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Budgeting and P&L management:
  • Develop and manage the brand’s marketing budget ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Track and analyse the brand’s profitability by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) like sales volume market share and return on investment (ROI).
  • Continuously monitor industry trends consumer preferences and competitor activity.
  • Be adaptable and adjust brand strategy marketing campaigns or product offerings based on market dynamics.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and marketing tools that can enhance brand communication and engagement.
Additional responsibilities:
  • Manage brand licensing and promotional partnerships.
  • Oversee packaging design and ensure it aligns with brand positioning.
  • Address consumer feedback and implement improvements based on consumer insights.
