Job Description

Mobile Health Team Inc. a staffing agency has a permanent fulltime RN Infection Prevention Manager opening. We are looking for someone with a passion for people.

Location: Mount Vernon WA 98274

Assignment Start Date: 6/3/2024

Shift: Days Full Time

Salary: $104000.00 to $156000.00

Provides expert clinical advice and leadership on infection control to ensure patients are protected from the risk of acquiring Health Care Associated Infections (HCAs) and Caregivers are practicing in a safe environment. In partnership with the Infection Disease team coordinates surveillance and data collection/analysis of the organizations infectioncontrol program. Refinement of policies and procedures to promote rigorous infection control standards that meet DNV OSHA the Public Health Department and the Center for Disease Control Standards

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead develop and maintain an effective and comprehensive infection prevention plan and program for the organization.
  • Train and develop the Infection Prevention team.
  • Ensure that surveillance and data collection/analysis take place and are appropriately reported including the incidence of infections related to device use as part of the ongoing surveillance using the Center for Disease Control (CDC) infection criteria throughout the organization.
  • Provide education regarding findings and direct and/or coordinate current infection prevention practices to all locations throughout system.
  • Assist in leading the organizations Infection Prevention Committee and participate in other committees as assigned.
  • Investigate nosocomial infections through a review of admission diagnosis microbiology culture results orders patient records consultation requests postdischarge surveillance and autopsy findings.
  • Report epidemiologically significant findings as appropriate through the Quality Management System.
  • Apply epidemiologic principles and statistical methods to identify target populations analyze trends and design and evaluate prevention and control strategies.
  • Lead environmental infection prevention surveillance rounds in inpatient and outpatient areas.
  • Collect data on the incidence of infections related to device use. Participates in investigations of unusual infection outbreaks and highrisk situations utilizing microbiology reports consultation with Medical staff County Public Health Departments and when necessary the Center for Disease Control. Reports epidemiologically significant findings as appropriate.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the surveillance plan and modify it as necessary and at least annually.
  • Coordinate reporting with the laboratory to the county and/or state health department and maintain appropriate records as required. Compile interpret and provide comprehensive surveillance reports to the Infection Prevention Committee and other Committees as appropriate.
  • Participate in quality/performance improvement activities by assessing monitoring and measuring nosocomial infection outcomes.
  • Maintains compliance with national standards and regulating bodies such as DNV CDC and OSHA.
  • Coordinate construction review with Plant Services assuring that infection control precautions are observed. Maintains plans policies and procedures for infection prevention. Develop and update isolation techniques and procedures following current standards of practice rules and regulations. Complies with all provided policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of Infection Prevention experience is required
  • A minimum of three years of applicable leadership strongly preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Laboratory Science Public Health or other healthrelated field required. Masters in Nursing
  • Laboratory Science Public Health or other Health care related field is preferred.

Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure required State of Washington Registered Nurse licensure preferred.
  • Certification in Infection Control is required.

EMR System: Electronic Health Record experience is required Epic experience is preferred.
