Job Description

Job Description:

As a Team Leader of Financial Risk Management at Singapore Gulf Bank, you will be responsible for overseeing the Market, Liquidity, and Credit risk functions within the organization. You will report to the Chief Risk Officer and will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's risk management strategies are effectively implemented and in compliance with regulatory requirements set by the Central Bank of Bahrain.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead a team of risk management professionals and provide guidance, mentorship, and support in their day-to-day activities.

2. Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks to identify, assess, and monitor market, liquidity, and credit risks.

3. Conduct regular risk assessments and stress tests to evaluate the bank's exposure to market fluctuations, liquidity gaps, and credit risks.

4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to ensure the risk management function aligns with the overall business strategy.

5. Monitor and analyze key risk indicators and provide timely reports and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors.

6. Stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory changes related to financial risk management and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders.

8. Lead and participate in risk committees and provide expertise and insights on risk-related matters.

9. Foster a culture of risk awareness and promote a proactive approach to risk identification, assessment, and mitigation within the organization.

10. Provide training and development opportunities to team members to enhance their risk management skills and knowledge.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) will be an added advantage.

2. 5-10 years of experience in financial risk management, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.

3. In-depth knowledge of market risk, liquidity risk, and credit risk concepts, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify potential risks.

5. Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and developing a team.

6. Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, regulators, and auditors.

7. Sound understanding of the regulatory landscape and compliance requirements in the banking industry, specifically in Bahrain.

8. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

9. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams.

10. Proficiency in risk management software and tools, as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant analytical tools.
