*Job Description:
This Associate Research Scientist will join the Translational Development Group in San Diego. The incumbent will be responsible for drug screening cellbased assay development and biomarker discovery. The individual will be responsible for the execution of defined experiments and data analysis. The position will require handling of tumor cell lines blood samples and patientderived tissues. The associate will be expected to maintain an electronic lab notebook and organize results into reports or presentations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication presentation writing and recordkeeping skills. The successful candidate will have a proven technical and scientific track record and experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.

*Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Semiindependently execute defined experiments data analysis and data QC
Report on scientific results to meet project deadlines
Work at the bench to develop and execute established and novel molecular and cellbased assays for
drug screening as well as understanding molecular pathways (Proliferation Apoptosis Flow
Cytometry etc.)
Perform cell biology and molecular biology including primary and tumor cell culture lentiviral
transductions RNA and protein preparation from cells and tissue RTPCR western blotting and
ELISA. Some training may be provided
Hands on experience in working with CRISPR siRNA and shRNA is a plus. Training will be provided.
May involve handling and processing patient derived tissues and blood samples
Collaborate effectively and cultivate positive and productive relationships with other scientists
May involve presentation of data to manager and project team
Thoughtful review of data and help plan next steps
Participate in maintenance of routine laboratory instrumentation and supplies
Adherence to laboratory safety policies and practices

*Qualifications:
Have a Bachelor s degree in a scientific discipline with at least 24 years work experience in the Pharma industry. Masters degree acceptable. PhD candidates will not be considered.
Demonstrate proficiency with sterile cell culture cellbased assays (CTG apoptosis) and molecular
biology techniques (Protein DNA and RNA isolations Western blot qRTPCR Flow Cytometry)
Experience with highthroughput drug screening is a plus
Possess some trouble shooting and problemsolving skills to resolve technical questions in a multi
disciplinary environment.
Be able to work in fast paced environment with changing priorities.
Possess excellent communication organization skills and attention to detail.

For CA workers only: The starting hourly compensation for this assignment is a range from $44.86 $56.98. While the final individual compensation will be determined by your employer of record (and not BMS) factors that will be included in making the final determination may include the characteristics of the assignment such as demonstrated experience required skill and the geographic location where the job is performed. The starting hourly compensation may be subject to change.
