Job Description
This position is crucial for overseeing the pulp production process which includes managing daily operations enhancing production and guaranteeing the efficiency and safety of the Fiber departments activities. The department is responsible for operating three continuous digesters a recycling plant that processes fiber from our internal converting facilities a recausticizing plant and managing woodyard operations.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for area performance in accordance to established key performance indicators (KPIs) to include: safety environmental compliance housekeeping quality and efficiency. Takes necessary actions to ensure goals are achieved in a team environment by leading or promoting problem solving and development of countermeasures that will prevent future reoccurrence.
- Participate in the production of virgin and recycle pulp inside quality targets for the mills two paper machines.
- The candidate will participate in night and weekend call rotations for the Fiber area.
- Oversee and lead area improvements / optimizations in Safety Productivity Quality Cost and Variation Reduction.
- Provide strong leadership and teamwork to make a quality product while ensuring a safe and efficient operation. Participates with Maintenance / Operations to coordinate maintenance items and assist in planning monthly maintenance items.
Requirements
- Candidates should have 2 to 7 years of process engineering experience in the paper and pulp industry including a minimum of 3 years in pulp/paper manufacturing.
- Experience specifically with pulp mills and recausticizing plants is highly desirable.
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering Pulp & Paper Science or a related engineering field is required.
- Proficiency in SAP is preferred.
