Job: Industrial Electrician
Location: Hamilton
Rotating shift: Morning afternoon Night
What you will do:
- Work collaboratively as part of a team made up of other trades (i.e. millwrights)
- Follow all plant and safety procedures and wear all required personal protective equipment
- Read blueprints diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Inspect test dismantle repair replace or adjust faulty parts on wiring on electrical equipment (i.e. switches circuit breakers transformers panel boards)
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as jacks forklifts and cranes to position machinery and parts during the installation setup and repair of machinery and equipment.
- Assist with proactive and reactive troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment to minimize production downtime and delays
- Actively contribute to the preventative maintenance program by providing recommendations for improvement.
What you bring
- Industrial Electrician with InterProvincial Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal442A)
- Experience working safely in a heavy industrial environment
- Follow the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Working knowledge of OHSA and relevant legislation (e.g. WHMIS Lockout Confined Space Working at Heights etc.) and willingness to successfully complete employerpaid training
- Experience with programmable logic controller (PLC)/industrialized computers variable frequency drives (VFD) industrial processes high voltage systems and PanelView
- Able to prioritize urgency based on production requirements
- Conduct and complete scheduled preventative maintenance work orders tasks and checklists
- Accurately document the steps taken and the duration required to diagnose and resolve issues
- Ability to work independently and as a contributing collaborating team member
- Basic computer literacy
- Safely perform the physical demands of this position including standing bending crouching overhead work heavy lifting and carrying
