Accounts Payable Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Accounts Payable Lead to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will oversee the accounts payable function ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This role requires strong organizational skills a deep understanding of accounting principles and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices purchase orders expense reports credit memos and payment transactions.
  • Review and verify invoices and check requests.
• Team Leadership:
  • Supervise train and mentor accounts payable staff.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
  • Monitor performance and provide feedback and coaching.
• Process Improvement:
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in the accounts payable function.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to accounts payable.
• Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and maintain accounts payable reports.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and accounts.
  • Assist in monthend and yearend closing processes.
• Vendor Management:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues.
  • Negotiate payment terms and manage vendor contracts.
• Compliance and Audit:
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and assist with audit processes.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred.
• Experience:
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Lead or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable principles and practices.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle).
