Job Description

DIRECTOR OF NPD - RESTAURANTS

EXPANDING RESTAURANT OPERATOR

NPD AND MENU DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL

BASED IN BAHRAIN

Food People are working with a rapidly expanding restaurant operator in their search for a Director of NPD to oversee the culinary development of the business. This position will be heavily focussed on creativity, menu development and the opportunity to be instrumental in developing new dishes as well as managing the current menus.

The role will be reporting into the senior leadership and you will be ensuring that menus are kept up to date in line with future trends, as well as ensuring the quality of food offered across the business remains at a high standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design new menus and introduce new concepts and creative cuisines of the highest quality to ensure that the business is always the forefront of new culinary innovation.
  • Ensure that food quality is consistent with company standards, by conducting frequent quality checks of dishes to ensure that the kitchen is providing the best service possible.
  • Work to create new products and ensure that menus are up to date in line with current trends.
  • Ensuring that potential new products can be manufactured profitability and meet food safety requirements.
  • Identifying market niches and opportunities into which existing products could be adapted and new products developed
  • Multi cuisine experience is essential.
  • Facilitate food tastings.
  • Standardise recipes and SOPs across the business and develop recipe templates.

KEY INGREDIENTS

  • Pion and drive for the industry.
  • Experience within a production environment would be advantageous.
  • 5+ years of culinary experience within well-known restaurant or hospitality companies.
  • Experience working within high-volume environments is essential.
  • Experience in menu creation and new product development.
  • Experience within creating and implementing SOPs.
  • Experience within the GCC is essential.
