Senior Project Civil Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Project Civil Engineer to evaluate select and apply standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria on moderately complex projects.

Tasks

1. Receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives critical issues new concepts and policy matters and broad parameters for execution.
2. Receive direction as needed and especially on highly complex assignments.
3. Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
4. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
5. Assist with the marketing of the firms capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.
6. Work closely with other disciplines on multidiscipline projects.
7. Use advanced techniques theory precepts and practices in the civil engineering field and related sciences and disciplines.
8. Serve as liaison between clients and agencies subcontractors and design teams on complex project issues.
9. Make design recommendations adaptations and modifications.
10. Plan schedule conduct and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
11. Carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved civil engineering techniques or procedures to create new or refined equipment materials processes or methods.
12. Create own design work using computeraided or manual drafting techniques.

Requirements

1. Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
2. PE license strongly preferred
3. Five or more (5) years of experience in civil engineering land development industry or related industry experience strongly preferred.
4. Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications and civil engineering design software such as Civil3D.
5. Familiarity with reading construction plans.
6. Basic understanding of financial reports and metrics.
7. Data analysis and interpretation skills.
8. Thorough understanding of business and financial principles in a consulting business.
9. Must hold a valid state drivers license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.
   

Skills

1. Primarily indoor professional office environment which can consist of possible bright/dim light noise fumes odors and traffic.
2. Mobility around an office environment.
3. Some outdoor work environment and may be exposed to outside weather conditions varying temperatures excessive noise and/or potential hazards.
4. Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking bending crawling climbing squatting or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
5. Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
6. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
7. Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
8. Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
