School Sign Language Interpreter NeededSchool Year
Location: School Districts near Baldwin Georgia

We are seeking a dedicated School Sign Language Interpreter to join our team and support students across various school districts in Georgia.The School Sign Language Interpreter will play a key role in facilitating communication for deaf or hardofhearing students ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities. This position involves working closely with students teachers and other school staff to support academic and social success.
Responsibilities:
- Interpretation: Provide accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction school activities and events.
- Student Support: Assist students in understanding and accessing the curriculum.
- Collaboration: Work with teachers and special education staff to support educational goals.
- Advocacy: Advocate for the needs of deaf or hardofhearing students.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of services and progress.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices in sign language interpretation.
Requirements
- Education: Associates or Bachelors degree in ASL Interpretation or a related field.
- Certification: Valid certification from a recognized body (e.g. RID EIPA).
- Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in ASL strong communication and interpersonal skills teamwork abilities.
- Attributes: Understanding of deaf culture and the needs of deaf or hardofhearing students.
