Job Description

Are you an HR professional ready for new challenges
Are you a highly motivated HR professional who can demonstrate experience across the whole spectrum of people processes from hiring to exit We are looking for a serviceoriented Human Resources Manager to join our winning team to support our businesses in Middle Eastern and African countries such as South Africa United Arab Emirates Saudi Arabia Qatar and Kuwait.
You will be managing all operational HR processes independently and compliantly in your subregion (5 countries and around 150 employees). In addition youll be a trusted advisor to our business involved in strategic HR projects and tasks. As the scope of responsibilities is wide you will be efficient in handling daily operational demands as well as confident in challenging old ways of working and promoting Valmets Way Forward.
Your main responsibilities will include:
  • All employee relation and labor legislationrelated matters from hiring to exit ensuring compliance with various regulations and company policies as well as advising and coaching line managers on employment matters
  • Resourcing: resource planning with managers recruitment and selection redundancy and restructuring activities
  • Compensation & benefits: managing salary reviews bonus programs and local benefits according to company policies and local legislation providing local expertise to salary surveys and C&B development
  • Talent development and retention: planning and implementing competence development activities to support professional development and the competitiveness of the organization
  • Driving Valmet people processes such as performance and development reviews employment satisfaction surveys and successor planning in your responsibility area
  • Maintaining HRIS data and ensuring data quality as well as payroll compliance
  • Facilitating a good work culture driving employee engagement and welfare and handling performance management cases and staff grievances
  • Developing our leadership culture proactively together with our line managers
As our HR Manager you will be reporting to the Director of HR Operations in Southern Europe Trkiye Middle East and Africa and working closely together with our HR Business Partners as well as with local management.
Requirements:
You know how to select the best employees from the market and your keen eye for detail will ensure our payroll is managed successfully and our HR data is accurate. Your knowledge of employment legislation is second to none and you understand how to manage the more challenging elements of the role such as grievance resolution and terminations. You balance a friendly and open nature with strong negotiating and influencing skills.
To succeed in this role you have:
  • Experience working in an HR Manager role for at least 5 years and supporting a global business in a multicultural matrix organization.
  • Suitable education (Bachelors degree or higher)
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Enthusiasm to manage various operational tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Solid experience in the recruitment of various kinds of roles
  • Knowledge and experience in all people processes across the employment lifecycle
  • Good negotiation skills and a cando attitude
  • Fluent communication presentation and facilitation skills in English
  • Demonstrable understanding of standard HR metrics e.g. headcount C&B costs turnover and operational reporting (e.g. sickness and absence).
  • Relevant IT skills and understanding of the importance of data quality in our HR systems (Workday knowledge is a plus)
  • Ability and willingness to take business travel to the countries under your responsibility.
