Horizon Controls Group are looking for an automation engineer with predominantly Rockwell PLC experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of automation in a pharmaceutical environment ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while optimizing performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design program and troubleshoot Rockwell PLC systems and other PLCs within the manufacturing environment.
- Develop and implement control strategies for syringe filling machines and other pharmaceutical equipment.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including production quality assurance and maintenance to ensure seamless integration and operation of automated systems.
- Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades of PLC systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Create and maintain documentation including validation protocols test plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for automated systems.
- Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance staff on PLC operations and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations GMP guidelines and other relevant industry standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation processes reduce downtime and improve product quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Automation Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Rockwell PLCs in an industrial or pharmaceutical setting.
- Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting Rockwell Automation products including ControlLogix CompactLogix and RSLogix 5000.
- Experience with other PLC systems (e.g. Siemens Mitsubishi) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes particularly syringe filling operations.
- Knowledge of GMP FDA regulations and validation requirements for pharmaceutical automation.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a teamoriented environment.
- Certification in automation or control systems (e.g. Certified Automation Professional Rockwell Automation Certified) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SCADA systems and HMI development.
- Familiarity with other automation platforms such as DCS and MES.
- Knowledge of robotics and integration of robotic systems in manufacturing.
- Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools for process optimization.
