Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Strategic Planner to join our dynamic advertising agency on a hybrid basis in Sandton. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market trends consumer behaviour and strategic planning to develop impactful advertising campaigns that align with our clients business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research and Analysis
Conduct thorough research on market trends consumer insights and competitive landscapes.
Analyse data to identify opportunities and threats for clients brands.
Develop actionable insights and strategic recommendations based on research findings.
Strategy Development
Collaborate with account managers creatives and clients to define campaign objectives and strategies.
Create comprehensive strategic plans that include target audience segmentation brand positioning and communication strategies.
Ensure strategies are aligned with clients business goals and marketing objectives.
Campaign Planning and Execution
Develop and present strategic briefs that guide the creative development process.
Work closely with creative teams to ensure the strategic vision is reflected in all campaign elements.
Monitor campaign performance and provide strategic input for optimization.
Client Relationship Management
Act as a strategic partner for clients providing expert advice and insights.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders.
Participate in client meetings and presentations to articulate strategic recommendations and campaign progress.
Thought Leadership and Innovation
Stay uptodate with industry trends emerging technologies and best practices.
Identify new opportunities for clients to engage with their audiences and differentiate their brands.
Contribute to the agency s thought leadership by sharing insights and trends with the wider team.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor s degree in Marketing Business Communications or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic planning preferably within an advertising agency.
Proven track record of developing successful marketing strategies and campaigns.
Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical and research skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to think creatively and strategically.
Strong understanding of digital and traditional marketing channels.
Proficiency with data analysis tools and software.
