We are currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team and support students across various school districts in Georgia. The SLPA will work under the supervision of licensed Speech Language Pathologists to assist in the evaluation and treatment of students with speech language voice and fluency disorders. This role is vital in helping students enhance their communication skills ensuring their success both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment Support: Assist SLPs in conducting screenings and assessments.
- Therapy Implementation: Carry out treatment plans and provide direct therapy services.
- Collaboration: Work with teachers and staff to integrate therapy goals into educational programs.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and report on students progress.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of therapy sessions.
- Education: Provide strategies to students families and staff for improving communication skills.
- Team Participation: Attend multidisciplinary meetings as required.
- Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices in speechlanguage pathology.
Requirements
Education: Associates or Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders SpeechLanguage Pathology or a related field.
Licensure: Valid Georgia state license or eligibility for licensure as an SLPA.
Experience: Prior experience in a school setting is preferred.
Skills: Strong knowledge of therapy techniques excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
