Job Description
As a System Engineer you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability availability and performance of our organizations application systems and services. You will work at the intersection of software engineering and IT operations implementing best practices to enhance system reliability scalability and performance. Your responsibilities will include designing and building resilient systems monitoring for issues and automating incident response and prevention.
Job Responsibilities:
- Be in charge of IT infrastructure consisting of servers running on baremetal servers/Hypervisors (VMware vSphere ESXi6/7/8 Windows HyperV) OS such as Linux and Windows (Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022)
- Manage reverseproxy server Domain Controllers DNS internal ZTNA (VPN) system file server database servers (JBOD) storage server and internal project tracking system
- Manage Firewall Router and networking devices such as wireless routers
- Responsible for maintaining the health availability and business continuity (including backup) of all IT infrastructure
- Monitor all infrarelated system alerts emails and check the server room daily to ensure critical alerts are attended and ensure that no major issues arise
- Continuously improve the performance of the services running in the servers including but not limited to security scalability and high availability
- Research about new technology to support project team
- Support customerfacing technicians on complicated technical issues
- Work closely with software engineers to solve all infrastructurerelated issues
- Perform system administration work and other duties as required
- Any other assigned tasks and responsibilities
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science Information Technology or related discipline
- Have strong technical and troubleshooting skills in serverrelated issues Storage and JBOD database servers.
- Keen to adapt and learn new technology
- Good knowledge of OS such as Linux Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and VMware vSphere ESXi6/7/8
- Experience in networking knowledge such as VLAN managed switch Firewall router and wireless routers
- Experience in managing Microsoft 365 Exchange Online etc.
- Familiar with scripting and automation.
- Experience in utilising monitoring tools such as Grafana
- A good team player with great initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Engineering Minimum 1 year prior experience as a Technical Support Engineer Prior experience in a customer-facing role with a focus on IT system delivery Strong technical knowledge in IT infrastructure technologies, including networking, virtualization, and related areas Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proactive attitude and ability to work independently, managing multiple customer accounts and projects simultaneously Experience in supporting government agency is preferred Prior experience in Cryptography would be advantageous Only Singaporeans need apply
