ProfessionLX is currently seeking military Transition Assistance Program Data Entry Operator candidates to help Columbus AFB transitioning military members navigate military separation. This position will assist running TAP workshops perform administrative functions such as data entry and reports assist customers maintain active job listings and assist with capturing statistical information. The successful candidate has a minimum of one year experience in TAP administration or an associates degree in social work and ideally has a background in the military community with an understanding of the resources needed by separating military members.

What you will do

Administrative Tasks:

  • Provide monthly data support in collecting maintaining and reporting protected information from the Air Force Family Integrated Results Statistical Tracking System (AFFIRST) and the DoDTAP.mil databases.
  • Maintain accountability statistics on resources used and develop charts logs and summaries as directed.
  • Ensure all clients sign in for use of TAP computers and provide a monthly client usage report.
  • Assist in collecting statistical information on all M&FRC activities and input the statistical data into AFFIRST.

Inventory Tasks:

  • Ensure adequate stock of supplies and forms prescribed for TAP to meet the needs of the customers are maintained and available.
  • Catalog TAP resource materials within one week of receipt and make recommendations on ordering new or updating existing resource materials and equipment needed for operation of the transition assistance program.
  • Provide a list of supplies and teaching material required for one year no later than 31 January of each year.
  • Inventory all resource materials on a quarterly basis no later than the last day of the month of the calendar year quarter (i.e. Mar Jun Sep Dec) monitor the use of all materials and report any missing or damaged inventory

Customer Support Tasks:

  • Provide support in the 100 percent completion of all forms required for all separating or retiring military members and medical evaluation board (MEB) candidates.
  • Aid in completing the TAP Exit Questionnaire to capture customer input on the quality of base level transition processes.
  • Provide referral service to clients seeking assistance with transition services such as resumes and job applications.

Computer Tasks:

  • Weekly basic computer maintenance: check TAP computers for required software and program updates and run/install updates as needed; clear the temporary Internet files folder and remove temporary files set on the computer during TAP or other workshops; clear user Common Access Card/Public Key Infrastructure (CAC/PKI) certificates from web browsers; ensure antivirus software is run/updated weekly; and maintain network integrity by allowing only authorized patrons to access the TAP computers. Maintain computer security ensure clients are aware of the limits on software program accessibility through the main menu and instruct clients how to scan their disks for viruses.
  • Assist authorized clients with technical questions concerning use of transition related computer programs Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting on computers printers scanners any equipment and furnishings related to the transition assistance program.

Facilities Tasks:

  • Ensure transition area is opened lights and workstations turned on and functioning at the beginning of each day. Bring up main menus on computers ensure printer paper is loaded. Ensure adequate housekeeping is accomplished each day to keep the transition assistance area orderly e.g. clearing items left from previous clients.
  • Provide tours of the TAP facilities and resources for walkin customers and workshop participants as needed/when directed/requested.
  • Provide monthly data support in collecting maintaining and reporting protected information from the Air Force Family Integrated Results Statistical Tracking System (AFFIRST) and the DoDTAP.mil databases.
  • Maintain accountability statistics on resources used and develop charts logs and summaries as directed.
  • Ensure all clients sign in for use of TAP computers and provide a monthly client usage report.

Requirements

Your qualifications

  • One year experience in TAP administration or an associates degree in social work.
  • Basic understanding of military protocol and Air Force Terminology
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to work with a diverse population
  • Above average oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer software applications
  • Must be able to obtain access to installation and necessary computer systems
  • Ability to maintain/update simple webbased scheduling and data entry systems


Qualifications Able to read, comprehend, write and speak English fluently Have strong written and oral communication skills Be able to plan efficiently and organize, communicate, and manage diverse program requirements Have basic computer skills, working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Ability to navigate web and social media sites and perform Internet searches Candidates must not be a current employee of the US Government
