Job Description

Job Title: Family Law Associate

Location: Brampton Ontario (Hybrid)

Job Type: FullTime

About Us: Our Client is a reputable and clientfocused law firm specializing in family law. We are dedicated to providing compassionate and effective legal services to families during challenging times. Our firm values integrity professionalism and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for our clients.You will handle cases involving divorce child custody child support spousal support adoption and other familyrelated issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Consultation: Conduct initial consultations to understand clients needs provide legal advice and outline possible courses of action.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of family law cases from inception to resolution ensuring timely progress and adherence to legal deadlines.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and ensure uptodate knowledge of relevant laws and precedents.
  • Documentation: Prepare and review legal documents including petitions motions agreements and court filings.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements and agreements between parties striving for amicable resolutions while protecting clients interests.
  • Court Representation: Represent clients in court hearings trials and mediations presenting evidence and arguments effectively.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with paralegals legal assistants and other attorneys to ensure comprehensive case preparation and client support.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients providing updates and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality and ethical standards in all client interactions and case management activities.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing family law.
  • Strong understanding of family law statutes regulations and case law.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Proven track record of successful case outcomes
  • Experience in Litigation
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
