Job Description

Role: Assembly Fitter

Location: Tamworth B79 7UW

Salary: £1400 to £1600 Per Hour

Benefits: 25 days holiday plus stats Pension 4% contributory 40hour week £10 per chamber going out within 48 hours of delivery date. 2035 chambers sent per month. Deductions for poor housekeeping or Kanban errors Production bonus (dependant on ability and efficiency) £200 to £400 per month

Ascott is a World Leader in the Manufacture of Corrosion Test Equipment and are a business unit of the Weisstechnik Group for Environmental Test Solutions.
Ascott’s markets include producing equipment for automotive aerospace and Surface Coatings Industries as well as educational/research general manufacturing and military applications.
We are looking for an experienced professional and confident individual to produce mechanical models and 2d drawings. The employee is to work under the directions of the Senior Technical Manager and Mechanical Engineer creating drawings schematics layouts and models for production Sales purposes and development.

Job Objectives

Wiring and assembly of Ascott machinery including Control panel wiring and mechanical assembly/fitting.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

To undertake the assembly and manufacture of Ascott parts & assemblies to the point where they are complete machines and ready for test.
Tasks to be undertaken:
  • Control Panel Assembly and Wiring.
  • Mechanical fitting and assembly of parts subassemblies and finished machine
  • Plastic Parts manufacture
  • Finishing and Packaging of finished machines
  • Wiring of chamber
  • Testing of chamber using instructions provided.
  • Selfinspection of finished items using laid down methodology.
  • Improve assembly methods and practices to reduce costs and minimise waste.
  • Ensure quality work produced to minimise nonconformities.
  • Ensure provided Work Instructions and methods are adhered to the letter.
  • Ensure tidiness cleanliness and standards of ‘housekeeping’ in own work area and throughout the workshop.
  • Training of other employees as required.
  • Picking and packing of Spares Orders.
  • Any supportive task for production that the employee is capable of.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Competence in undertaking general electro mechanical assembly or finishing operations.
  • Competence in wiring control panel installations in accordance with best practice standards.
  • Competence in pneumatic installations in accordance with best practice standards (but training can be given in this area).
  • Competent mechanical fitting skills.
  • As defined by any future skills matrix that is both reasonable and achievable.
  • Fork truck Licence would be an advantage but not necessary.
  • Manual handling ability will be required.
