Job Description

Start Date: ASAP
Shifts: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (Days)
Contract Weeks: 13
Guarantee: 40 hrs
Estimated Gross Weekly Pay $1760

As a Physical Therapy Assistant you will work closely with the Physical Therapist to implement treatment goals plans and programs for our patients. You will assist in providing therapeutic interventions aimed at meeting the patients longterm rehabilitation objectives.

Assist in Therapeutic Interventions: Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to execute therapeutic interventions tailored to the patients needs. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Posture training
  • Strengthening exercises
  • Endurance/cardiac training
  • Balance exercises
  • Coordination exercises
  • Joint mobility and muscle lengthening techniques
  • Pain relief modalities
  • Functional skills training
  • Community reentry training
Locomotion Training: Train patients in the use of orthotics prosthetics or assistive devices such as canes crutches walkers and wheelchairs. Provide guidance on proper gait techniques utilization of belts and safety awareness measures.

Equipment Instruction: Order and instruct patients in the proper use of prescribed equipment to aid in their rehabilitation process. Ensure patients are proficient in using equipment safely and effectively.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of patient progress interventions administered and any relevant observations. Communicate effectively with the Physical Therapist regarding patient responses to treatment and any adjustments needed in the plan of care.

Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on exercises techniques and strategies to promote independence and optimize recovery outcomes. Provide guidance on home exercise programs and selfcare practices.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals including physicians nurses and occupational therapists to ensure holistic care and continuity of treatment for patients.

Compliance: Serves and protects the facility by adhering to professional standards policies and procedures; federal state and local requirements.

Requirements


  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
  • An active license to practice Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Maryland
  • Minimum of one year of verifiable supervised professional experience
  • Active CPR/BLS certification
  • Physical vaccination status and PPD/chest xray
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening
