Position: Zabbix Architect/SME
Location: 100% Remote
Position Type: 3 Months Contract (20 hours/week)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess clients current environments to determine monitoring needs.
- Design and implement scalable and robust Zabbix monitoring solutions.
- Develop and apply Zabbix templates to monitor various metrics including CPU memory disk space and system services.
- Integrate Zabbix with ServiceNow for seamless ticket creation and incident management.
- Define and implement criteria for alarms to convert to tickets minimizing noise and false alarms.
- Establish and configure maintenance periods and alerting logic to differentiate between production and development environments.
- Configure high availability and redundancy for Zabbix to ensure continuous monitoring.
- Guide backup strategies for Zabbix configurations and data.
- Create detailed documentation and offer training to the clients team on managing and maintaining the Zabbix environment.
- Assist with troubleshooting and optimizing the Zabbix setup.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Zabbix Architect or similar role with a strong understanding of Zabbix components and architecture.
- Extensive experience with Zabbix installation configuration and administration.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring and alerting best practices.
- Experience integrating Zabbix with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
- Proficiency in creating and managing Zabbix templates and triggers.
- Knowledge of VMware and vCenter monitoring.
- Familiarity with Windows and RedHat operating systems.
- Experience configuring high availability and redundancy for monitoring systems.
- Scripting skills (e.g. PowerShell Bash Python) for automation and custom integrations.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Zabbix Specialist certification.
- Experience with other monitoring tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
