Finance and Operations Manager

The Finance cum Operations Head with Planning and Analysis Expertise is responsible for overseeing the financial management operational aspects and strategic planning functions of the university. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in finance operations management and strategic analysis to drive organizational success.

What does the job involve

• Financial Management:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies policies and procedures to ensure the university financial health and sustainability.
  • Oversee budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Manage cash flow investments and financial risks effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
• Operations Management:
  • Streamline administrative and operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Supervise facilities management including maintenance security and housekeeping.
  • Oversee procurement inventory management and vendor relations.
  • Implement technology solutions to optimize operational workflows.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Strategic Planning and Analysis:
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives and contribute to the development of the university longterm objectives.
  • Conduct financial and operational analyses to identify trends opportunities and risks.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on datadriven analysis.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends competitive landscape and economic indicators to inform decisionmaking.
• Team Leadership:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the finance operations and planning teams.
  • Recruit train and mentor staff to build a highperforming team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with senior management academic departments and other stakeholders to align financial operational and strategic goals.
  • Build relationships with external partners government agencies and regulatory bodies.
• Payroll Function:
  • Oversee the payroll process ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries wages and benefits to faculty staff and other employees.
  • Collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee records including attendance leaves deductions and taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations tax laws and labor standards including the timely filing of payroll taxes and statutory deductions.
  • Review payroll reports and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies procedures and controls to safeguard payroll data and mitigate risks.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and best practices implementing updates as necessary to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Finance Business Administration or related field; Masters degree or professional certification (e.g. ICAI ACCA CPA CFA) preferred.
• Proven experience in financial management operations management strategic planning and analysis roles preferably in the education sector.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in financial software business intelligence tools and MS Office suite.
• Ability to multitask prioritize and manage deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
