Job Description

Company Overview: Our client is dedicated to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the community through professional law enforcement and correctional services. Our client is seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in MedicationAssisted Treatment and Medication for Opioid Use Disorder.

Position Summary: The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing evidencebased care to individuals with substance use disorders contributing to their overall health and wellbeing.

Responsibilities:

Review nursing intake screening reports and results of validated substance use screening tools.
Conduct multidimensional assessments of patients medical psychiatric health social substance use and substance use treatment histories.
Establish substance use diagnoses and determine severity using DSM5 criteria.
Perform physical examinations and obtain appropriate lab tests to identify Comorbidities related to substance use.
Collaborate with patients to develop individualized treatment plans.
Initiate titrate or continue MAT medications using evidencebased pharmacological interventions.
Address and treat acute medical issues and refer patients with cooccurring chronic medical conditions to other medical providers.
Conduct followup visits to optimize patient outcomes and minimize risks.
Conduct recovery management checkups and refer patients to additional services as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to provide expert consultation and coordinate care.
Support effective transitions in care for patients reentering the community or transferring to other facilities.
Provide 24hour oncall availability for nurse counsel verbal orders and MAT releases.
Manage intoxication and withdrawal from alcohol opioids benzodiazepines or other substances.
Screen assess and provide treatment for pregnant and parenting women with Opioid use disorder.
Order and maintain stock of MAT medications.
Engage in continuous professional development activities to remain uptodate with MAT and addiction medicine guidelines.
Focus on a chronic care education plan for MAT patients and collaborate with other providers for additional chronic care needs.
Qualifications:

Nurse Practitioner (NP) License and DEA Certificate.
Advanced degree in nursing with specialization in psychiatric or addiction medicine.
Certification in MAT or MOUD preferred.

Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
Commitment to upholding ethical and professional standards in healthcare delivery.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of patients and the organization.
Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Previous experience in MAT and addiction medicine preferred.
