Main Responsibilities

  • To direct manage and support the development implementation maintenance and administration if all financial controls and accounting procedures based upon a maximization of internal control techniques consistent with Group corporate management established policy and generally accepted accounting principles as adapted to the requirements of the hotels management contract and other local legal requirements
  • To play an active role in the management of the hotel and to exercise a responsive attitude to the needs of the General Manager and other members of the hotel management team.
  • To ensure compliance to the terms and conditions of the hotels management contract with particular regard to provisions relating to the companys responsibilities as the managers and bringing any discrepancies to the immediate attention of the General Manager and group corporate management
  • To actively involved in the search for opportunities to improve the profitability of the hotel and encourage the preparation of exception reports and analyses to help meet and measure the success of this objective
  • To manage supervise and support all subordinate employees with a view to optimizing the profitability of the hotel and improving the guest experience
  • To initiate employee development and evaluation programs for all subordinate staff to ensure the highest level of professional competence and efficient continuity within those positions
  • To organize an efficient treasury function to provide proper management of the hotels working capital and cash flow in accordance with Group corporate management minimum guidelines and within the requirements of the hotels management contract. Also to ensure excessive investment is not made in receivables or inventories and that sufficient liquidity is maintained to meet the hotels obligations
  • To be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the hotels computerized data processing function within the Group corporate management established guidelines

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as Chief Accountant or Accounting Manager in a similar capacity in a hotel
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Knows how businesses work; knowledgeable in current and possible future policies practices trends technology
  • Excellent communication skills within the organization. Proactive communicator
  • High managerial skills to meet and focus on deadlines planning resultsdriven and flexible.
  • Able to train and manage a team of 11 people as well as to train other managers/supervisors on the job
  • Excellent knowledge of various PMS POS Purchasing Payroll Accounting and Reporting Systems (preferably Springer Miller System Infogenesis Moreton Bay Oasys SUN System and Hyperion Planning)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office mainly excel
