Job Description:
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheets income statements cash flow statements and other financial reports in accordance with local regulations and accounting standards.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and longterm financial forecasts. Monitor performance against budgets and provide analysis to support strategic decisionmaking.
3. General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing and posting journal entries reconciling accounts and ensuring proper documentation of transactions.
4. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns including VAT PAYE and other statutory requirements.
5. Audit Coordination: Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation responding to inquiries and implementing audit recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
6. Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow projections and manage cash balances to optimize liquidity while minimizing risk.
7. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends variances and opportunities for improvement. Provide insightful recommendations to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
8. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff providing guidance and support to foster professional development and ensure departmental objectives are met.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
Professional certification (e.g. ACCA CPA) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management roles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian accounting principles and tax regulations.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
