Title: Firewall and Network Hybrid Cloud engineer

Interview Process: 1 round with Everest Managing Director 1 round with Team

Contract length: 6 months Opportunity for hire and extension

Location: Warren NJ Preferably able to be onsite 23 times a month or more.

Hours: 40 per week. 9:00AM 5:00PM. Monday Friday only.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply a comprehensive understanding of firewall technologies and concepts with a focus on CheckPoint and Palo Alto. This includes a basic understanding of routing switching firewalls and network monitoring and management. Experience with upgrading patching and maintaining Palo Alto and Checkpoint network infrastructure. Also requires a basic understanding of Cloud based firewall technologies. Also a basic to intermediate hands on work with Microsoft Azure networking and security.

Responsibilities:

• Upgrading patching and maintaining global production firewalls from Check Point R81 (Maestro) and Palo Alto (v9.1.3)

• Rapid response to active threats being reported including IP blocking and IPS maintenance

• Supporting larger firewall projects

• Detect and remediate vulnerabilities within the firewall infrastructure

• Perform special projects and additional duties and responsibilities as required

• Take over daily maintenance activities related to the global firewall infrastructure including:

• Log maintenance

• Reporting

• Auditing

• Create/modify firewall rules based on user requirements

• Manage daytoday calls and tickets for various engineering and troubleshooting tasks

• Microsoft Azure Basic to Intermediate understanding of Azure networking VNETs Network Service Groups Load balancing and Route servers

Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience working with Palo Alto firewalls

• 1 to 2 years or More of experience with cloudbased firewalls preferably Zscaler

• 1 to 2 years or More of experience with the MS Azure cloud

• 1 to 2 years of experience working with Checkpoint

Optional:

• Cisco ISE experience

• PaloAlto Panorama experience

• Cisco IOS routing switching (basic)

• Comprehensive knowledge of Check Point and Palo Alto technologies and protocols including Sitetosite VPN IPS Content/URL filtering and Application Control

• Experience upgrading patching and maintaining Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls

• Experience working with the following network management platforms: SolarWinds Orion NCM NPM and IPAM
