Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct assessments to identify students strengths challenges and learning needs.
Analyze assessment data to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students unique abilities and requirements.
Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and evaluation adjusting instructional strategies and interventions as needed.
Instruction and Intervention:
Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in oneonone small group or inclusion settings.
Develop and implement instructional materials and activities that align with students IEP goals and objectives.
Use evidencebased teaching strategies and accommodations to address students diverse learning styles and needs.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and adapt instructional materials for students with disabilities.
Behavior Management and Social Skills Development:
Implement behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques to support students socialemotional development.
Teach and model social skills communication skills and problemsolving strategies to help students build positive relationships and succeed in social settings.
Work with students parents and support staff to address behavioral challenges and develop individualized behavior plans as needed.
Collaboration and Consultation:
Collaborate with classroom teachers administrators and support staff to promote inclusive practices and create a supportive learning environment for students with disabilities.
Consult with parents guardians and external professionals to gather input share progress and coordinate services for students with disabilities.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings IEP meetings and other collaborative forums to discuss student progress share insights and develop strategies for supporting student success.
Professional Development and Advocacy:
Stay informed about best practices research findings and legal requirements related to special education and disability services.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education instruction assessment and intervention.Advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities promoting inclusive practices and equitable access to educational opportunities.
