Job Description
Job Title: Probate Paralegal
Location: Worcester MA 01606
Duration: 7 Months (Potential for Extension)
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced paralegal to fill a temporary position covering a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of probate court procedures specifically in guardianship proceedings.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare guardianship petitions and associated legal documents for submission to various probate courts.
- Monitor courtapproved medication orders and facilitate periodic court reviews.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals serving individuals with intellectual disabilities to gather necessary affidavits and documentation for court reviews.
- Maintain and update case files and establish an efficient filing system.
- Manage a calendar of return dates hearings trials and other legal proceedings.
- File cases in multiple probate courts across the clients jurisdiction.
- Ensure timely processing and distribution of court documents to all relevant parties.
- Foster positive relationships with court staff attorneys families service coordinators and other stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook Teams Word Excel and Access.
