You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe CNC automation technicians role is to program the numerical control of machine tools control servo motor axes carry out functional tests and commission the automatic systems that equip the machines. Our machines can be automated systems robotic systems or CNC machine tools.
To commission a machine the CNC tech must do some preliminary preparation. Then he/she will be called upon to perform the startup according to the commissioning file analyze and set up machine safety systems follow the schedule and prepare progress reports coordinate his/her work with other members of the installation team participate in the documentation of a user and maintenance manual to train operators and electrical maintenance technicians in the use of the machine tool automation systems.
His/her work is divided up as follows:
40% Office work: Preparation of files programs macros and CNC controller parameters.
30% Factory work: Machine tool startup and basic functional testing. This task can be optional and only onsite startup
30% Customer site: Machine startup full functional tests customer training on the use of machinetool automation. Customer site time varies between 9 and 25 weeks depending on the complexity the size and progress of the job.
Missions
Program machine tools or automated systems used among other things for tool changes motor cooling coolant pump control and vacuum control.
Carry out machine commissioning at customer sites
Participate in the analysis and implementation of machine safety systems by producing a report in accordance with ISO13849.
Ensure compliance with the schedule established in the startup file.
Prepare progress reports to update the startup file. Send reports to management (Granby QC.) to follow up on work problems encountered and solutions found
Coordinate work with other members of the installation team (mechanics IT specialists electricians) through daily meetings
Participate in the documentation of commissioned systems including Mcodes and Gcodes in order to create by the editorial team (Granby QC.) a machine operation and maintenance manual to be given to the customer
Train the operator the electrical maintenance technician and the parts programmer (the customer) in the use and maintenance of machine tool automation systems in accordance with system/manual documentation. A minimum of 24 hours of training per shift is planned

Education:
DEC or AEC in electrical engineering electricity or industrial electronics
BAC in automated production engineering
