The main purpose of this role is to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the entire extended warehouse function (both internal and external) which includes ensuring relevant planning optimises profitability through cost management and customer service.

Warehousing: Stock
- Manage external warehouses efficiently to ensure minimal stock cover days
- Ensure stock accuracy across all warehouses
- Execution of FIFO across all warehouses
- Ensure stock management practices including ABC analysis & stock put away locations
- Ensure the coordination of stock assembly and dispatch of break bulk goods
- Manage Annual Financial Audits & regular stock takes
- Manag stock issuing to production departments including bottling refinery press etc
- Manage increase and decrease in terms of stock requirements per location & plan future capacity requirements
Warehousing: Operations
- Responsible for warehousing cost nationally
- Manage last mile costs and delivery efficiency
- Manage external warehouse OTIF delivery and customer service in conjunction with the sales admin and logistics departments.
- Implement initiatives to effectively manage space & travel distances i.e. time motion studies.
- Liaise with New Product Development Quality and Procurement departments to ensure specifications and requirements are in place for the correct shipment procedures for all products.
- Manage all warehousing procedures.
- Ensure equipment is effectively utilized and properly maintained.
- Ensure only licensed personnel drive forklifts reach trucks and vehicles.
Contractor Management
- Manage external contractor costs & contracting.
Reporting and Systems
- Produce monthly reports on warehouse OTIF Costs and efficiencies
- Implement systems to ensure throughput.
- Ensure food safety standards & housekeeping are always adhered to.
- Ensure effective use of the Warehouse Management System
- Health and Safety
- Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks.
- Followup on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management.
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people.
- Attend safety education and refresher programmes.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill.
- Distribute safety information as and when required.
- Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times.
Employee management and development
- Ensure overall compliance to relevant procedures and policies.
- Ensure that all team members have clearly defined job profiles.
- Regular goal review completed to assess achievement of results.
- Support coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met.
- Ensure that development plans are in place for each employee.
- Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands.
- Ensure that events/activities taking place in the team are effectively communicated within the team.
- Ensure adequate succession planning in order to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements.
