Rust Developer

Job Title: Rust Developer

Duration: 12 months with potential extension

Location: Remote 100 %, anywhere from the world.

Time zone: Min 4 hours overlap with PST time zone

Working hours: Fulltime 8 hours per day (40 hours per week)

No travel required.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design and develop high-quality, efficient, and maintainable Rust code.
• Work with various stakeholders to define and deliver new features and services.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability while ensuring application security.
• Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve code issues, ensuring continuous system stability.
• Uphold and enhance code quality through writing clean code and performing code reviews.
• Participate actively in design discussions and contribute to the advancement of our development processes.
• Keep abreast of the latest Rust updates and integrate new tools and techniques into the development workflow.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to facilitate seamless deployment and operation of Rust applications.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in Rust development or similar system-level programming roles.
• Strong understanding of Rust's ownership model, memory management, and concurrency patterns.
• Solid grasp of software engineering principles and system architecture.
• Proficiency with Git or other version control systems.
• Proficient in writing comprehensive unit and integration tests.

Tools Required:

• Comfortable with Rust development tools such as Cargo, rustc, and Rustup.
• Proficient in using Rust-specific debugging and performance profiling tools.
• Experience with build and automation tools relevant to Rust development.
• Familiar with database integration in Rust, including both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Comfort operating in a Unix/Linux environment.
• Familiarity with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
