Wyndham Garden is now seeking a Bartender to join our team at Wyndham Garden Manama in Bahrain.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for serving food and drinks to guests; maintaining the highest level of customer service and food and beverage standards as determined by Food and Beverage Management.
Education & Experience
Minimum Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum Experience
- 1 to 2 years supervisory experience.
- Basic math and cashier skills; ability to work with POS system.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing, carrying, and/or walking.
- Firm and simple grasping are required for all aspects of this position.
- Capable of working in a fast paced environment and in stressful situations.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods at a time.
- Requires a well-groomed professional appearance.
- Must have clean, healthy work habits.
- Must be flexible in hours/days.
- Must responds to multiple task interruptions in order to provide service to internal and external customers.
- Requires good vision to include: close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
- Requires good hearing.
General Requirements
- If serving alcoholic beverages must meet the state’s minimum age requirement.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have good analytical skills and decision-making ability.
- Proficient in MSWord, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Able to logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work; good work ethic.
- Able to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills including tact, patience, courtesy and problem solving ability; work well with customers and co-workers.
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Able to operate vacuum cleaner, laundry washer and dryer, chemical dispenser, HMS computer.
- Obtain any locally required certifications.
Fundamental Requirements
- Mix and serve drinks.
- Check patrons' identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Enter transactions into the POS system, accept money and make change.
- Stock supplies in the lounge/bar area.
- Observe and make decisions regarding intoxicated guests in conjunction with the Food and Beverage Management’s established policies and procedures.
- Train new bartenders and servers.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas such as the pantry area and the lounge.
- Perform other job related activities as required or requested by the Food & Beverage Manager.
