The project is to ensure that the rebuild/ reconstruction of a high level chimney stub approximately 9m in height at the top of an industrial chimney. The work could be either day shift or evening shift:
Due to take place throughout June July August possibly into September
Working shifts will be up to seven days per week on a 13 day fortnight.
The role of the setting out engineer involves works at approximately 200m 250m from the ground so applicants must not have a fear of heights.
In accordance to the clients policy applicants must either be clean shaven and undertake a face fit test for an FFP3 mask or have an powered air fed respirator if not clean shaven.
The role will require competence and relevant experience of onsite works with the ability in interpret and read construction drawings.
Must haves:
• Good safety culture ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations/site rules at all times
• Clean shaven and face fit for FFP3 mask or have a powered air fed respirator if not clean shaven
• Ability to use setting out equipment/ laser/ Geostation to ensure ring beam bearings and reconstruction of blockwork is as per construction drawings.
• Ability to read construction drawings.
• Ability to read construction programmes
• In situconcrete construction experience.
• Ability to perform quality/progress checks.
• Ability to work independently reporting to Team Manager.
• Ability to perform equipment material and routine site inspections.
• Ability to focus and keep calm under pressure.
Desirable:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Great time management and problemsolving skills
• EMSS Safety Passport
• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering Safety management or ex trade experience that has moved into a Supervisory role
