The successful candidate will manage full facilities and project management including maintenance grounds snow removal capital project management and custodial services. You will conduct timely interviewing and hiring and provide mentoring and leadership to 25 union employees. 5 years of Director experience required. Strong ClientPartner relationships and strong Project manager skills are missioncritical to success in the role.
This college has an incredible campus which is made up of 14000 acres within Adirondack Park. Students and faculty have an extensive outdoor recreational activity list at the nearby TriLakes communities of Saranac Lake Lake Placid and Tupper Lake which offer a variety of activities yearround.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead management of capital projects.
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
- Research and implement new processes and technology.
- Conduct client meetings on unresolved facility issues and communicate results.
- Manage interviewing and hiring timely and coach staff and service providers to deliver excellent service levels within budget.
- Manage multiple functions of building operations and maintenance for the facility with knowledge of mechanical HVAC structural architectural landscape and energy management and sustainability snow removal event coordination custodial electrical environmental and safety and financials.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Clear Driving record and valid license.
- 5 years of Director experience in a campus setting.
- Experience managing external vendors and subcontractors.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building.
- Exceptional customer service relationship building and communication skills.
- A proven track record of successful Facilities Management leadership experience demonstrated by articulated results.
- Strong technical knowledge of and hands on experience with mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC grounds and custodial.
- Experience managing multiple departments at a campus including grounds environmental services construction and project management and maintenance.

- manages the preventative maintenance and reactive repair of skilled trades e.g. HVAC plumbing electrical utilities; and manages the hiring training and supervision of staff professionals and management.

- oversees construction work (when in progress) and often manages other core company services and/or logistics of business/operations services e.g. grounds keeping laundry food security inventory mail concierge services.
MUST HAVE
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of Management Experience.
- 5 years of Functional Experience.
- 5 years of Director experience in a campus setting.
- Experience managing external vendors and subcontractors.
- Experience with mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC grounds and custodial.
- Experience managing multiple departments at a campus including grounds environmental services construction and project management and maintenance.
- Clear Driving record and valid license.
