Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Procurement and Contracts to join our executive leadership team. As the VP of Procurement and Contracts, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement process, managing vendor relationships, and negotiating contracts to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing procurement strategies that support the organization's goals and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the entire procurement process, including sourcing, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and legal, to ensure procurement activities meet business needs while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement practices, negotiate favorable contracts, and achieve cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services and addressing any performance or quality issues.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for process improvements and strategic sourcing.
  • Implement and maintain procurement systems and technologies to streamline processes, enhance data analysis capabilities, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and contracts, ensuring compliance in all procurement activities.
  • Lead a high-performing procurement team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their professional growth and alignment with departmental objectives.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPM) are highly desirable.
  • Proven work experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a similar leadership role, preferably at the executive level.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving cost savings, optimizing procurement processes, and implementing procurement technologies.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build strong supplier relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, conduct market analysis, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse procurement team.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity in procurement practices.
