Assistant Business Controller

The opportunity

Were currently looking for an Assistant Business Controller. Someone to join our Finance team in order to deliver Controlling and Financial priorities. Someone with a passion for electric mobility an interest in technology and a desire to create the change we know is needed. And someone who doesnt mind the occasional bit of sustainable travel in the service of a cleaner form of electric performance.

This position is in Sydney Australia. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work knowing that both inperson collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time and support to do what needs to be done. And to enjoy doing it of course.

The responsibilities

In this role youll be expected to work as a member of Commercial Controlling team youll be the primary point of contact for all FP&A works and operational activities for the local market collaborating closely with the Polestar Asia Pacific and Global team to ensure sustainable growth is optimized via operational excellence. See below for a more thorough breakdown of the various tasks and areas youll be responsible for:

• with budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with department heads and HQ teams.
• monthend close activities with local and shared service team.
• monthly financial statements to ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• compliance with accounting standards taxation regulations and other statutory requirements.
• Head of Commercial Controlling with process improvements internal controls and other topics.
• ad hoc duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate

In order to succeed in this role and at Polestar in general there are a few characteristics youll need to have. Tenacity. Flexibility. Curiosity. The ability to take the initiative to meet deadlines and requirements and to abandon ideas when theyre not feasible. You are a team player with experience from finance area preferably in auto industry and with an excellent understanding of business requirements. You can handle multiple tasks maintain focus and adapt easily to changing business needs. Youll also have a true handsonattitude and you make things happen.

In addition youll need the following qualifications:

• Degree in finance and CPA / CA qualification.
• than 5 years of relevant experience in finance roles.
• in automotive industry is preferred.
• to think strategically with good business sense and commercially awareness.
• effectively in a matrix organization with international exposure.
• communications presentation & analytical skills.
• to use creative analysis to drive business improvement.
