Bankruptcy Attorney

We are seeking an attorney with 2 years of experience to join our clients offices in New York City. You will be working on matters in the states of New Jersey New York Delaware Maryland Texas and Florida.Job Description:

Job Description:

• Serve as a bankruptcy attorney handling legal matters across multiple states including New Jersey New York Delaware Maryland Texas and Florida.
• Specialize in providing legal guidance and representation to individuals businesses or organizations navigating financial distress and seeking relief through bankruptcy proceedings.

Responsabilities:

• Conduct client consultations to evaluate financial situations and recommend appropriate bankruptcy options;
• Evaluate clients financial records assets liabilities and debts to determine eligibility for bankruptcy relief and the most suitable bankruptcy chapter;
• Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions schedules and other necessary documentation with the bankruptcy court;
• Represent clients in court hearings meetings of creditors and other legal proceedings;
• Negotiate with creditors to reach agreements on debt repayment plans or other arrangements;
• Stay updated on changes in bankruptcy laws and regulations through legal research and analysis;
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws rules and court procedures in bankruptcy filings;
• Advocate for clients rights and interests throughout the bankruptcy process providing compassionate support and guidance;
• Pursue professional development in bankruptcy law through seminars workshops and continuing legal education.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing with relevant jurisdictions.
• Prior experience in bankruptcy law preferred but not required for entrylevel positions.
• Strong understanding of bankruptcy laws procedures and regulations.
• Excellent analytical negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• High level of professionalism integrity and empathy.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Bar admission in one or more states where the firm operates and where the candidate intends to reside.
• Strong academic background and exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Litigation experience considered a plus.
