We're a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka and looking for a Senior Vice President Procurement for a leading FMCG company located in Colombo. The Head of Procurement will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services and optimizing supply chain operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of procurement processes market trends and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions focusing on cost savings quality and timely delivery.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends identify risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Oversee the procurement budget ensuring compliance with financial goals and regulatory requirements.
- Implement best practices in procurement and supply chain management utilizing technology and data analytics.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies ethical standards and legal requirements in procurement activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and drive efficiency across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement with at least 5 years in a leadership role and the FMCG industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful procurement strategies.
- Strong negotiation communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Indepth knowledge of market dynamics supply chain management and contract law.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
