- Perform various qualityrelated functions within the organization s quality program to develop apply and maintain quality requirements for processing components and other materials into finished products.
- Analyzes failure reports and returned products and reports corrective action to customers.
- Prepares and maintains defect trend analysis reports.
- Inspects a variety of complex electrical electronic and electromechanical items for workmanship acceptability as well as complex and precision mechanical parts and assemblies for acceptability by using a variety of tools gages and basic shop math.
- Records results of inspections in the MRP system and prepares inspection reports identifying approved and rejected quantities.
- Instructs and trains employees in processes or methods in accordance with departmental procedures practices and/or process sheets.
- Be responsible for performing source inspections and reducing the variability of purchased materials through strong leadership and continual improvement of supplier quality planning processes.
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications and alloys conducting visual and measurement tests rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Establish and maintain a vendor/outsource database. Manages all nonconforming materials.
- Perform internal quality audits and external supplier quality audits.
Requirements
- 7 years experience in quality control inspection with electronic components as well as Quality Assurance/Manufacturing experience including SMT high reliability electronics.
- High School diploma or ASQCE certification or equivalent experience required Associate degree preferred.
- JSTD001 and IPC610 knowledge and/or certifications required.
- Must have experience in the use of inspection tools (i.e. microscopes micrometers calipers height gage and scales).
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and 5S is a plus.
- Microsoft Office proficiency
