About the Job
The Benefits Director is responsible for the overall coordination implementation and communication of the organization's benefit programs and 401(k) administration. The ideal candidate will have a diverse background of managing employee benefits programs COBRA FMLA and shortterm disability. Must be knowledgeable in federal and state regulations regarding employee benefits.
Roles & Responsibilities
Manage the daytoday administration of all employee benefits including Medical Dental Vision FSA/HSA 401(k) Life Insurance and Disability and Workers Compensation in all corporate company operation.
Responsible for collaboration on all employee communications related to benefit programs.
Recommend benefits programs to management by analyzing employee requirements trends and developments as well as market conditions and costs.
Reconcile benefits accounts by approving billing statements.
Conduct annual open enrollment for organization at multiple locations.
Ensure compliance with and maintain current knowledge of regulations related to employee benefits including but not limited to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) the Health Care Reform Act of 2010 (PPACA) and Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) and enforce adherence to requirements.
Maintain benefit recordkeeping system ensuring information is accurate and current making updates by entering approved changes in benefits and deductions.
Audit HR Benefit and Worker's Compensation data for accuracy identifying and troubleshooting issues.
401(k) Plan Administration including annual employee meetings deferral and loan processing.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field. Equivalent Experience may be considered.
57 years of handson experience in administration of HR/Benefits and 401(k) programs.
Must be a team player and be able to prioritize and multitask in a high sense of urgency deadline driven environment.
Knowledge of best practices relating to payroll and benefit administration.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook required.
Paycom ATS or other ATS system experience preferred.
Benefits/FMLA Plan Administration.
Leave Management (FMLA/ADA) experience.
Experience processing qualifying life events.
Experience in the Development and improvement of company policies and procedures.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Experience in voluntary benefits programs.
Familiarity with industry standards for employer/employee cost sharing benefits models.
Experience in Employee Leave administration (multistate and federal)
