Our digital solutions result in a 27% increase in digital customer conversion 81% faster mortgage decisions and a 90% firsttimeright. Our software integrates seamlessly with core banking CRM and online banking systems offering a compelling and comprehensive service to borrowers.

Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and Motive Ventures our SaaS platform has raised EUR 14 million placing Oper at the forefront of revolutionizing mortgages in Europe. Oper currently has offices in Zrich Switzerland and Antwerp Belgium.

To support our current growth in Europe we are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our team. The expected start date is July 1st.

Tasks

What you will do

As the first inhouse accountant at Oper you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimising our financial operations. Reporting directly to our VP of Finance you will take on the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting tasks and the monthly close process together with the external accountants in accordance with local GAAP (BE CH and UK).
  • Collaborate closely with external accountants in our jurisdictions to ensure regulatory compliance and expert oversight.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable workflows including invoice processing procurement requests and vendor/contractor payments.
  • Verify and prepare monthly financial reports for various stakeholders (investors board).
  • Streamline and manage our expense management software (Spendesk).
  • Take charge of payroll processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across the DACH and Benelux regions.
  • Implement and prepare quarterly consolidated number according to IFRS.
  • Lead the yearend financial processes partnering with external accountants to prepare financial statements.
  • Actively challenge and optimize our accounting and reporting processes with a focus on automation.
  • Assess opportunities to bring certain accounting functions inhouse to align with our strategic goals.
  • Implement new accounting processes to align with evolving business changes.
  • Collaborate internally with crossfunctional teams to enhance our systems and incorporate accounting and finance requirements.
  • Serve as a resource for employees on payment inquiries invoice processing and expense management tools.

Requirements

What you will bring

  • You have a minimum of 3 years experience in accounting in agile fastpaced environment (startup Big Four). You comfortably navigate in multientity accounting structures.
  • You are familiar with the Belgian accounting standards Swiss and UK are a plus.
  • You work detailoriented and organized and are not afraid to handle multiple competing priorities at the same time. You can easily manage internal and external communication with various stakeholders in parallel.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and flexibility toward dynamic change.
  • Fluency in English and German or Dutch any other language is a plus.
