Job Description & Summary


Support PwC in all data warehouse modernization and data platform related projects on Google Cloud. Take on the leading technical role to design and implement state-of-the-art data platforms, extensions and modernization for our clients. Be the go-to person for technical concepts and solutions related to data warehouse migrations and modernizations using Google Cloud. Understand the end-to-end challenges and complexities of such transformations and be able to master them with the team. Drive the definition of the target architecture and architecture decision making of our clients in data platform and data warehouse migration / modernization projects on Google Cloud. Lead a team of data engineers, data analysts and junior data architects to ensure the success of data warehouse migrations to Google Cloud and the implementation of data platforms in Google Cloud. The ideal candidate is experienced in migrating Teradata to BigQuery.

Background:

• Experienced in designing and building Cloud Data Platforms on Google Cloud with focus on BigQuery

• Experienced in designing and building data architectures and ETL processes on Google Cloud
• Proven track record of migrating large data warehouses to Google BigQuery (esp. Teradata)
• Extensive knowledge of big data concepts and technologies as well as modern data management concepts (e.g. data fabric, data mesh, data federation, data marketplace, etc.) and knows how to design and build them using Google Cloud and other systems (e.g. Collibra)
• Extensive knowledge about benefits and limitations of Google Cloud services for modern data platforms
• Experienced in discovery and assessment of legacy data warehouses (e.g. Teradata) to plan their migration to Google Cloud
• Ideally experienced in business development and pre-sales activities
• Collaboration with the client and other teams, such as data engineers, data stewards, data scientists to integrate solutions into broader scope and architectures.
• Ideally experienced in leading teams
• Target Projects: Large data warehouse migrations and optimization to Google Cloud, implementing modern data concepts on Google Cloud
