Job Summary:We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead our financial management and accounting operations within our food manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting budgeting forecasting and internal controls with a proven track record of success in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management to support decisionmaking and strategic planning.
- Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
- Track budget performance against actual results investigating variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Provide financial guidance and support to department managers to ensure alignment with budgetary goals.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow projections and liquidity planning to ensure adequate funding for operational needs and capital investments.
- Oversee cash management activities including cash disbursements collections and banking relationships.
- Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and working capital efficiency.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits of financial processes and systems to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance financial transparency accuracy and efficiency.
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Perform financial analysis and modeling to support business decisionmaking investment evaluations and strategic initiatives.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to various departments and stakeholders as needed.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings revenue enhancement and process improvements to drive business performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field. CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry preferably in food manufacturing.
- Proficiency in financial modeling analysis tools and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
