Civil Engineer III

We are recruiting for a Civil Engineer to join our client a dynamic engineering consulting firm in the Chicago area. The firm provides innovative solutions and has a proven track record of success and a commitment to excellence.

As a Civil Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects from designing highways and local roads to managing construction projects with precision and expertise. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating an engineering plan based on their calculations and any research conducted. By utilizing strong organizational and communication skills this candidate will also have the ability to execute a project based on the criteria outlined.This is an opportunity to take on more responsibility in the design of contract plans for transportation projects around Illinois.

Flexibility: Hybrid (3 days in Schaumburg office 2 days remote)
Pay: $93000 $120000 per year plus benefits

Responsibilities of the Civil Engineer III position:

• Working closely with project managers to establish project timelines and designs.
• Assisting with Design of Maintenance of traffic plans pavement marking/signage plans utility relocation and roadway plan and profiles.
• Preparing construction plan documents using MicroStation Civil 3D and other CAD software.
• Developoing construction specifications quantities and pay item estimates.
• Interpreting project plans and specifications ensuring that construction work meets the highest standards of quality and compliance.
• Collaborating to produce design plans reports and specifications that are innovative and effective.
• Coordinating with stakeholders to resolve utility conflicts and other issues as they arise.
• Perform ing quality control procedures to ensure that all project deliverables adhere to industry standards and client requirements.
• Attending coordination meetings and facilitating the resolution of technical issues as needed.

Requirements for the Civil Engineer III position:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 1 years of relevant civil design experience specifically in transportation engineering.
• EIT certification required Licensed Professional Engineer is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Bentley MicroStation and or/ AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Ability to manage individual tasks and work in a collaborative environment.
• Working knowledge of IDOT and Tollway design standards and processes.
• Strong communication skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
