Job Description

Client has a contract opportunity for an industry experienced Scientist in the Cell Line Development (CLD) group at our Oceanside campus facility.
-
Seeking a highly motivated teamoriented individual to design and execute experiments to support cell culture and clone development for our rapidly growing biologics pipeline.
-
The successful candidate will also contribute to the overall strategy of new technology development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in endtoend Cell Line Development pipeline projects including activities from vector design and construction to clonal cell lines ready for Master Cell Bank generation.
- Support CLD activities including clone selection technology development media development process optimization and process characterization studies.
- Support process improvements for increased speed and efficiency to generate highly productive high quality robust cell lines that meet all regulatory requirements with high quality documentation.
- Handson laboratory operations such as molecular biology shake flask bench scale bioreactor and novel culture platforms.
- Contribute to written technical reports present in group meetings and work crossfunctionally to achieve common goals.
Education:
- BS (or MS) with 5 years experience in a relevant scientific discipline (biology bioengineering chemical engineering biochemical engineering).
Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience with mammalian cell culture (CHO) and automation/highthroughput technologies for mammalian cell line generation and process optimization preferred.
- Excellent communication technical report writing and presentation skills and aptitude for creative problem solving.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Experience in statistics and data analysis (e.g. JMP Spotfire).
