Key Result Areas:• Prepare, independently or in collaboration with others, research proposals to national, regional and international agencies in order to secure funding• Help develop research strategy and contribute with other research team members in the development of survey methodologies, implementation of fieldwork data analysis, and the review and writing of reports• Assist with, and where appropriate be responsible for, policies and procedures to ensure that work meets research quality objectives toward accreditation standards• Represent the organization as a prime or lead research contact on projects or proposals• Support senior staff on one or more projects, manage small and medium-size projects and participate in research with minimum supervision• Guide and mentor junior staff, oversee the design of research tools, such as questionnaires and interview guides, by junior staff, and direct the activities of support staff• Perform fieldwork protocols, supervise fieldwork implementation, and ensure appropriate documentation of research and accuracy of reports in order to produce reliable and precise data• Alone and in collaboration with other research staff, produce and publish original research papers and reports on priority research topics in peer-reviewed professional publications and present them at scientific gatherings at the national, regional and international levels• Help maintain close ties with relevant social research institutes and plan and develop scientific gatherings• Provide training on specific research data analysis techniques in own area of specialty and on protocols and techniques of data collection and analysis to researchers and graduate students• Other reasonable duties as assignedMinimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:• Doctoral degree• 2-5 years of relevant experience• 3 publications as principal author• Competent professional level of knowledge of principles, theories, professional concepts and techniques of discipline plus general knowledge of other disciplines. Experience applying and demonstrating these competencies in solving a range of complex technical problems. Learning to lead and manage complex technical programs and projects across organizational units• Excellent writing and speaking skills - ability to draft/ edit a variety of written reports and communications and articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is a plus• Proficiency in MS Office applications
