Director of Logistics

Our client Triple M Metal is one of North America’s largest privately held fully integrated recyclers of ferrous and nonferrous Scrap metals. Their growing enterprise operates 44 facilities across North America including Canada the United States and Mexico. ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Director of Logistics you will lead a professional logistics team and provide oversight across Canada the USA Mexico and other international operations. With an indepth knowledge of road rail and ocean you will lead cost containment efforts for TMM in a handson manner. The successful incumbent enjoys using their keen analytical ability operational expertise and strong leadership to drive process improvement. Responsible for directing and leading transportation scheduling delivery and other elements of logistics your focus will be to streamline and automate logistics procedures and methods. The sum of these efforts will lead to reduced costs excellent service and optimization of the supply chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategic oversight and management of logistics operations
• Develop the logistics roadmap and KPIs and optimize systems.
• Logistics systems analysis/optimization/recommendations
• Own and prepare freight budgets and corresponding management and reporting.
• Carrier/Vendor relationship and contracts management
• Review and standardize all logistics processes SOP’s and roles.
• Develop excellent reporting of delivery scope and key Deliverables.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 10 years in a leadership capacity demonstrating strong career progression in a related business (Logistics and Supply Chain leadership industrial/manufacturing business or any other heavy industrial)
• Proven ability to develop and deliver on KPIs and deliver measurable results.
• Heightened analytical skills and extremely strong negotiating acumen.
• Demonstrated leadership and proven ability to manage teams.
• Advanced knowledge of logistics/supply chain management best practices and tools
• Multimodal logistics knowledge with scope (Can US Mexico preferred)
• Solid knowledge of various logistics software and opportunities

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Accreditation from one of the following designations:
CITT PLOG SCMP ISM
