Job Description

Manager is responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other qualityrelated policies to meet GFSI standards.
Review Quality Documents and other manufacturingrelated documents to verify compliance and record keeping for all mandated manufacturing processes quality checks testing sampling and sanitation activities.
Audit quality control of raw materials packaging components labels and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and regulatory standards.
Ensure the manufacture and shipping of products of the highest qualityoutstanding in appearance package presentation performance and taste by correctly handling and utilizing raw materials and Good Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Practices.
Ensure a safe clean and productive work environment and assist in maintaining a positive employee relations climate throughout the organization.
With the support of the Director Of Quality Assurance Food Safety & Regulatory affairs develop the SSOP and build and maintain an adequately staffed wellqualified and fully trained Sanitation organization
Oversee the training of personnel in the performance of job responsibilities including the safe and proper handling and/or use of material tools machinery and equipment.
Develop and maintain a full roster of protocols to protect the company the employees and the consumer.
Develop and maintain a shelflife testing program.
Develop and maintain a lab testing protocol.
Develop and maintain a retains program.
Review and maintain all daily HACCP and GFSI documents and programs
Assist on investigating and correcting qualityrelated issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
Make proactive recommendations and offer/present solutions to the Operations department (production warehouse & field sales) to improve quality and work efficiency.
Ability to investigate a product/process failure determine the root cause and take prompt corrective actions while minimizing product exposure and production downtime quickly and thoroughly.
Share knowledge skills and information with other personnel with quality production and across functional areas.
Assist in the implementation of policies operating procedures quality systems and programs which ensure proper testing evaluation inspection and technical support to meet product quality standards.
Participate in all regulatory third party and customer audits and inspections and corrective action response.
Maintain a fair and professional work environment that focuses the business objectives but also balances quality of worklife factors for employees.
Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings.
Regular punctual physical attendance in the facility is an essential function for this position. Ability to work and observe sanitation and audit the program.
Perform other duties as directed by the Quality Assurance Director
Review adjust and approve/reject Quality Assurance Technicians timesheets and time off requests.
Skills:

Good understanding of quality testing within the food and beverage industry to include analytical microbiological and sensory evaluation. Must possess a basic understanding of chemical and microbiological analysis and basic math.

Ability to work under pressure (in a fastpaced environment) meet deadlines (overtime work might be required) and make effective decisions.

PC Proficiency (Google Workspace) and computerbased applications.

Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Skills in organization and prioritization and to attention to details

Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.

Must be able to communicate ideas effectively (verbally and in writing) be a selfstarter and handle difficult reporting situations.

Flexible schedule able to work on weekends and holidays per the plant s needs.

Requirements


  • Bachelor s degree of science preferred in Food Science or Food Technology or related field (Meat Science Biology Microbiology Food Microbiology etc.)
  • HACCP Certification Allergen Control Training Food Recall Training and/or Preventive Controls Qualified Individual Certification required.
  • At least five (5) years of work experience as a quality assurance supervisory level in fresh food or beverage.
  • At least five (5) years of GFSI (BRC SQF and FS2000) experience.
  • A good knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety.
  • Food Handler Certification (Manager Level) Required.
  • Implementation of GFSI program.

Schedule: May Vary

AM shift 3:00am to 12:00pm

Mid shift 11:00am to 8:00pm
