Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: West Sussex UK
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
My client is a dynamic and growing company that pride themselves on their commitment to excellence and providing exceptional service to their customers. As they continue to expand they are seeking a dedicated and detailoriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team in West Sussex.
Job Description:
Assist with Accounts Receivable/Payable: Process invoices payments and expenses accurately and in a timely manner. Reconcile accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
Bank Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Assist with Monthend Closing: Support the finance team in preparing monthend financial reports and statements.
Data Entry and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records and update databases with transactions invoices and other financial information.
Assist with Payroll: Help with payroll processing including inputting data calculating overtime and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Support Financial Audits: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Administrative Tasks: Perform general administrative duties to support the finance department such as filing documents answering phone calls and responding to emails.
Requirements:
Education: A degree or diploma in accounting finance or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role preferably in a finance or accounting department is advantageous. However we are open to considering candidates with relevant coursework or internships.
Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy and precision in financial recordkeeping and data entry.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills are essential for liaising with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Accounting Software: Familiarity with accounting software is desirable.
Team Player: A cooperative attitude with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.
Ethical Conduct: Uphold high ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
