We are seeking a Weld & Forming Process Engineer to support an electrical/electronic manufacturing company in Ripon WI.
This is an onsite role and relocation assistance is available.
Job Summary:
The Weld and Forming Process Engineer will be responsible for engineering matters related to planning managing and maintaining production methods for forming and weld equipment (laser plasma resistance welds will be the focus).
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine equipment processes operations and procedures to identify improvement opportunities in areas of safety quality throughput and cost.
- Implement changes and modify operation standards.
- Evaluate vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.
- Select & implement suitable manufacturing processes and apply modern organizational principles to make products at a competitive cost.
- Identify & optimize current and new manufacturing processes using continuous improvement.
- Work closely with production and maintenance to ensure equipment is operating in a likenew condition.
- Conduct Capability Studies and perform Time Studies.
- Process Development may include Visual Work Instructions.
- Production support and process troubleshooting.
- Cost (scrap rework cycle time etc.) reduction.
- Specify tools jigs and fixtures.
- Project coordination and daily troubleshooting.
- Participate in Kaizen events.
Requirements
Education:
- BS in Material Science Mechanical Welding Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or combined related experience
Required:
- 24 years engineering project experience in metal manufacturing.
- Experience in Lean manufacturing techniques capability studies process mapping FMEA and root cause analysis.
- Qualified to take a project lead role and comfortable in a fastmoving continuous improvement culture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with aggressive deadlines.
- Detail orientated and can understand complex process interactions.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- Firm knowledge of Creo & AutoCAD.
