Job Description

The offered services consist of following subservices:

  • The Corporate User provisioning service: retrieves data from HR authoritative sources and generates based on them identities that are stored and used in and by IT systems
  • The CED (Commission Enterprise Directory) is an LDAP based Directory offering a central authentication service access control and directory facilities
  • EU Login is a central service offering different level of authentication with some access control facilities
  • Address book exchange: contact information can be exchanged with partner organizations for both parties to put that information at the disposal of their users
  • In the context of reorganisations (e.g. renaming of DG creation/deletion of entities within DG creation of a new entity) DISS is providing assistance and support to the concerned entities

Description of tasks:

Operational tasks on Oracle Directory server and OpenLDAP

  • Stop / Start LDAP servero Replication tasks (stop start resync ssl)
  • Perform LDAP queryo Indexing jobso Troubleshooting via access audit error logs
  • Backup of running instance
  • Restore instance from backup
  • Schema updates
  • ACI update

Infrastructure

  • Upgrade LDAP server to new version
  • Patch the server
  • Install and configure new server
  • Support for infrastructure projects (new applications migrations etc)

Monitoring

  • Monitor the servers via monitoring tools and scripts
  • Act proactively based on monitoring alerts

Scripting

  • Write new scripts bash ksh perl or improve current scripts

Security

  • Perform vulnerability assessments for applications
  • Analysis and mitigation of systems related vulnerabilities

Administrative tasks

  • Create incidents
  • Manage incidents/request for service/request for info from the outside world
  • Create and lead change management (create tickets procedure documentation)
  • Create/update documentation and procedures
  • Perform training and coaching to other agents (back office and front office)

Knowledge and skills required:

Databases

  • SQL
  • Oracle
  • Derby Ignite (nice to have)

Integration tools

  • Git
  • Bamboo
  • Nexus

Operating systems

  • Linux RedHat

Middleware

  • Oracle Weblogic server
  • Tomcat server

At least 3 years of experience in UNIX / Oracle infrastructure environments

Ability to adapt to changes quickly

Good spoken and written knowledge of English and French

Punctual meticulous and reliable

Analytical and systematic approach to problem solving

ITIL foundation certification

Extra assets:

  • Experience with ticketing systems (Service Now Atlassian Jira)
  • Experience with CHANGE and RELEASE Management
  • Experience with Sharepoint as user
  • Experience with Prince2 / PM methodologies
